The State of Qatar has strongly condemned and the attack on the Lake Chad area in the west of the country, killing eight people, including seven soldiers and a number of wounded.

In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar's firm stance rejecting violence, terrorism and criminal acts regardless of motives and reasons.

The statement expressed condolences of the State of Qatar to the victims' families, the government and the people of Chad, wishing the wounded a speedy recovery.
