Qatar Condemns Bombing of Hospital in Southern Tripoli, Libya

The State of Qatar condemned in the strongest terms the bombing of a field hospital in southern Libyan capital of Tripoli, leaving deaths and injuries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Tuesday that the bombing of the hospital is a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, which aims to ensure the safety of patients and medical staff working in hospitals and to maintain health facilities in times of war.

The statement stressed that the bombing of the hospital necessitates an urgent international investigation in order to bring the perpetrators to international justice, calling on the international community to take urgent action to protect civilian targets.

The Ministry expressed the condolences of the State of Qatar to the families of the victims, the government and people of Libya, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
