Qatar Condemns Bombing of Residential Area in Southern Libya

The State of Qatar condemned in the strongest terms the bombardment that targeted a residential area in the southern Libyan city of Murzuq, which resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement today that the bombing of residential areas represents a violation of the international law, and may amount to a war crime and crimes against humanity.

The statement called on the international community to take an immediate action to protect the civilians, and to launch an urgent investigation into the incident that would pave the way for bringing the aggressors to international justice.

The Ministry expressed Qatar's condolences to the families of the victims and the government and people of Libya, and wished the wounded a speedy recovery.
