Qatar Condemns Killing of Civilians in Air Strike in Tripoli

The State of Qatar has strongly condemned and denounced the air strike that targeted a populated area in the Libyan capital Tripoli, killing three young sisters and wounding several other members of their family.

In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the bombing of residential neighborhoods represents a violation of international laws, and may amount to war crime and crimes against humanity.

The statement called on the international community to take immediate action to protect civilians and to open an urgent investigation into the incident in order to bring the perpetrators to international justice.

The Ministry expressed Qatar's condolences to the families of the victims and the government and people of Libya, and wished the wounded a speedy recovery.
