Qatar Strongly Condemns Attack on African Union Mission in Somalia

The State of Qatar has condemned in the strongest terms the attack on the African Union Mission in Somalia which killed a number of Burundian peacekeeping soldiers.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Qatar's shock at this heinous crime and affirmed its full solidarity with the African Union and its full support for the efforts aiming at maintaining peace in Somalia.

The statement reiterated the firm position of the State of Qatar on rejecting violence and terrorism, regardless of motives and reasons.

The statement expressed the condolences of the State of Qatar to the families of the victims, and to the government and people of Burundi.
