The State of Qatar expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack that targeted the motorcade of Minister of Interior of the Libyan Government of National Accord Fathi Bashagha, west of the capital Tripoli. One of the minister's guard was injured in the attack.

In a statement on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar's firm position on rejecting violence, terrorism and criminal acts, regardless of the motives and reasons.

The statement stressed the need to pursue those involved in the attack and bring them to justice, while wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
