The State of Qatar strongly condemned Wednesday the death of a Turkish Consulate personnel in Iraq's Erbil in an armed attack on a restaurant in the city.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed in a statement today the importance of opening an investigation into the attack, and presenting the perpetrators to justice in order to ensure they are held accountable.

The statement also renewed the State of Qatar's firm rejection of violence and terrorism, regardless of the motives and reasons.

It also expressed the condolences of the State of Qatar to the families of the victims, the government, and people of Turkey.
