The State of Qatar welcomed the peace agreement initiated by Sudan's transitional government, Sudan Revolutionary Front (SRF) and a number of armed movements in Juba, South Sudan.

In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the State of Qatar's appreciation for the State of South Sudan's sponsorship of these negotiations.

The statement also expressed the State of Qatar's hope that the rest of the factions would join the peace process in order to achieve comprehensive stability in Sudan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar's aspiration for the agreement to fulfill the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people and their just demands for freedom, peace and justice, and stressed the firm position of the State of Qatar in support of the unity and sovereignty of Sudan.
