The State of Qatar welcomes the final statement of Sudan’s Neighboring Countries Summit which was held in Cairo. It also considers the statement an important step within the regional and international efforts to stop the fighting in the sisterly Republic of Sudan, through dialogue and peaceful means.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the appreciation of the State of Qatar for the efforts of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt in hosting the summit. The Ministry also expresses the hope of the State of Qatar that the outcomes of this summit and other good offices will pave the way for a permanent cessation of the military conflict. In addition, this will hopefully lead to broad negotiations, in which all Sudanese political forces will participate, in order to reach a comprehensive agreement and sustainable peace that achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people for stability, development and prosperity.
