Qatar Participates in 23rd Session of Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism

The State of Qatar participated in the 23rd regular session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism with the participation of ministers and heads of delegations of Arab member states.

During the session, which was held Wednesday via videoconferencing, the delegation of the State of Qatar was headed by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the Arab League Ambassador Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al Sahlawi.

The agenda of this session includes many topics related to matters of tourism in the Arab countries, foremost of which is the supporting the tourism sector in the State of Palestine, as an affirmation of the collective Arab and Islamic responsibility towards Jerusalem.

The agenda also includes calling on all Arab and Islamic countries, as well as civil society organizations to provide the necessary funding to implement the projects in the strategic plan sector development in East Jerusalem (2018-2021), with the aim of saving the holy city, protecting its sanctities, and strengthening the resilience of its people, as they face the Israeli plans and attempts to Judaize East Jerusalem and displace its people.

The session's agenda includes a proposal to hold an Arab-Chinese tourism ministerial conference, as well as discussing recommendations to support the relaunching of the tourism and travel sector in the Arab world while proposing solutions to the obstacles facing tourism in the Arab countries.

The items on the agenda also included a proposal to establish an advisory board for affordable tourism and a model of Arabic strategy document in the field of tourism security.
