Qatar's Permanent Representative to UN Holds Several Meetings with Senior UN Officials

HE the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Ambassador Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani held a series of meetings with senior officials of the United Nations.

HE met with Executive Director of the United Nations Children's Fund Henrietta Fore.

They discussed the latest developments in Afghanistan. Her Excellency stressed that the education of girls and children in Afghanistan is a priority for the State of Qatar.

Also, HE the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the UN met with United Nations Relief and Works Agency for the Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini, where they discussed the State of Qatar cooperation with UNRAW. Her Excellency underlined the State of Qatar's support of the humanitarian and developmental needs of the Palestinian people.

HE Qatar's Permanent Representative to the UN discussed with the Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs Oscar Fernandez-Taranco the latest developments in Afghanistan, emphasizing the deep partnership between the State of Qatar and the UN.

Furthermore, Her Excellency met with Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths, where she affirmed the State of Qatar's support for the operations of the UN Office for the coordination of humanitarian affairs in Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria and in other regions

HE Qatar's Permanent Representative to the UN also met with the Under-Secretary-General and Associate Administrator of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Usha Rao-Monari, where she renewed the State's of Qatar support for the UNDP projects in the Middle East.
