Preparatory Meetings for the First Qatari-British Strategic Dialogue

   HE Director of Policy and Planning Department, Dr. Khalid bin Fahad Al Khater, and HE Director of European Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saoud bin Abdulla Al Mahmoud, met in London with HE Deputy Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Tony Kay, and HE Prime Minister's Business Unit, Oliver Christian, HE Senior FTA Negotiator, Sophie Brix, HE Director of the Department of International Trade, Department of International Trade, Gavin Winbanks, and HE Assistant Director of the Department for Middle East, Africa and South Asia Affairs At the National Security Secretariat, Tom Allen, in preparation for holding the first Qatari-British strategic dialogue during the first quarter of next year.

During the meetings, the two sides indicated that holding the strategic dialogue between the two friendly countries will contribute to deepening the strong partnership in all fields, especially trade, investment, defense, security, technology, public health, climate change, energy and education, and promoting peace and security in coordination with friends and allies.

The two sides noted the strength of the historical relations between the two countries and their aspiration to advance them to broader horizons, and stressed the importance of holding the first strategic dialogue.
