Qatar, Indonesia Sign Letter of Intent to Provide Humanitarian and Development Assistance to Afghan people

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met on Saturday with HE Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi, on the sidelines of Doha Forum.
The meeting discussed aspects of the bilateral cooperation and means of enhancing and developing them, in addition to issues of mutual concern.
HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and HE the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs signed a Letter of Intent between the two countries foreign ministries regarding the provision of humanitarian and development assistance to the Afghan people. The two parties hereby declared their joint intent to provide humanitarian and development assistance to the Afghan people.
In accordance to the Letter of Intent, the two parties agreed that the two countries aim at establishing a cooperative mechanism to support the capabilities of the Afghan people, and to empower the role of women in the development of Afghanistan. The two parties also agreed to explore ways of cooperation in providing scholarships and cooperation in vocational training programs aimed at building the capabilities of the Afghan people in various fields, as well as working together to facilitate dialogues on the role of Afghan women through organizing conferences and joint events.
