Ministerial Meeting of Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee Takes Place in Istanbul

The preparatory ministerial meeting for the eighth meeting of the Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee, chaired by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The Qatari side was chaired by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, while on the Turkish side it was chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance work and strategic cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including agreements and memoranda of understanding to be signed during the meeting of the Strategic Committee. The meeting also discussed latest regional and international developments of joint interest, the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and the role of Turkey in transporting grain, in addition to Algerias declaration of Palestinian reconciliation, and the latest developments in the situation in Iraq and Libya.

HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the Qatari-Turkish talks that took place today were constructive, adding that the two countries agreed to continue to develop relations, especially in the economic, investment and trade fields.
