HE Qatar's Ambassador Meets IFRC Secretary General in Nepal
Kathmandu /Information Office/ 17 May 2015/ HE Qatar's Ambassador to Nepal Ahmed Jassim Al Hamar met today with the new Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Elhadj Amadou As Sy, who is currently on a visit to Nepal to check damage caused by the earthquake which struck Nepal. They reviewed services provided by Qatar for the relief of Nepalese people through the Lekhwiya Qatari Research and Rescue Team, Qatar Red Crescent ( QRC ) and Qatari charitable and humanitarian societies. HE the Ambassador affirmed Qatar's commitment to help the Nepalese people by providing food aid, generators, medicines and tents . QRC established an integrated medical unit at Norkot for conducting surgical operations and treating those affected by the quake. For his part, Elhadj expressed thanks to Qatar for its speedy response in providing humanitarian assistance and commended IFRC's efforts .
