Preparatory Meeting for Arab-Chinese Cooperation Forum Starts in Doha

Doha/Information Office/ 11 May 2016/ Senior Officials started their 13th preparatory meeting for the 7th ministerial meeting of the Arab-Chinese Cooperation Forum, in Doha today. At the outset of the meeting, HE Qatar's Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Saif bin Muqaddam Al Buainain welcomed the participants in the meeting, expressing pleasure for holding this session in Doha. The Forum aims to strengthen Arab-Chinese cooperation in all areas, and it is a strategic choice in the contest of cooperation between the two sides, he said adding that it enhances international peace and security and help achieving development in these countries. "Under the guidance of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, we, in Qatar, are working to strengthen and support this partnership," he added. HE Ambassador Al Buainain , who is also the chair of the Arab side of the Forum, praised the achievements made in the context of the Strategic relations between the two sides, pointing that 7 Arab states have reached the level of strategic partnership with China. "Within the framework of dialogue with the Chinese side, we exchanged views on strategic cooperation and regional issues of mutual interest." he noted. "With regard to cooperation, we have agreed on a draft for the Doha Declaration and the implementation programme 2016-208," he added.
