Al Shafi: Qatar Won't Hesitate to Provide Necessary Support to Ankara

HE the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Turkey Salem bin Mubarak Al Shafi said that Turkey is a "strategic ally" of the State of Qatar, stressing that Qatar "will not hesitate to provide the necessary support to Turkey."
In an interview with Anadolu Agency, HE the Ambassador said that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's visit to Turkey "will serve to confirm the close links between the Qatari and Turkish people and their common positions vis-a-vis the many challenges they face."
He added that Qatar has always been proactive in supporting the Turkish people, and the two countries share common positions in all regional and international issues in the benefit of the people of both countries, adding perhaps the relations between the two leaderships and peoples are the main and powerful engine of both countries.
He pointed out that many Qatari citizens went to the exchange outlets with tens of millions of dollars to buy the Turkish lira in order to support and revive the Turkish currency, considering that Turkey is a strategic ally of Qatar. "We renew our firm stand with the brotherly Turkish people in their present ordeal," he said, stressing: "Our strong relations with the Republic of Turkey enjoy a special status among our people.
