Qatar's Ambassador Participates in Launching Relief Convoy Heading to Kassala State in Eastern Sudan

HE Ambassador of Qatar to the Republic of The Sudan Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Kubaisi participated in launching relief convoy to Kassala state in eastern Sudan in support of those affected by floods, funded by the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and implemented by Qatar Charity at a cost of US 1,879,000.

The launch was attended by the Humanitarian Aid Commissioner Dr Mohammed Al Sinari Mostafa representing the Sudanese government, Qatar Charity's Sudan office director Hussein Karmash and other representatives of civil defense and emergency room for floods and rains.

In a speech at the inauguration ceremony, the Humanitarian Aid Commissioner expressed gratitude to the Qatari leadership, government and people for its humanitarian initiative, its response to the relief appeal for those affected by floods and rains and providing great support during the autumn season.

Dr Al Sinari said that the State of Qatar always stands with Sudan to deal with the effects of disasters and floods and thanked Qatari organizations for their significant humanitarian role in Sudan.

HE the Ambassador of Qatar to Sudan added that this convoy comes as part of the relief provided by the State of Qatar to those affected by the floods and rains that hit many states of Sudan, under the guidance of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to stand with Sudan during this ordeal.

HE the Ambassador added that Qatari planes airlifted relief aid to Khartoum airport, including great quantities of food, medicine and humanitarian assistance, in addition to what was distributed through Qatari organizations with funding from QFFD.
