The State of Qatar condemned in the strongest terms the failed coup attempt which the Sudanese authorities announced thwarted today.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said this attempt targets the aspirations and hopes of the brotherly Sudanese people for the democratic transition, freedom, peace and justice.

The statement reiterated the State of Qatar's full support for Sudan and its brotherly people to maintain its sovereignty, unity, security and stability
