Qatar Embassy Participates in Event in Japan to Promote Qatari Heritage

The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Japan participated in a cultural event at the Arima Primary School in downtown Tokyo, at the invitation of the school, in the context of the cultural activities sponsored by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to introduce the cultures of other countries.

The Minister Plenipotentiary of the Embassy Abdullah bin Jassim Al Zeyarah gave a presentation on the Qatari heritage and culture and the country's folklore and popular arts. He spoke at the beginning of his presentation about the State's interest in the education sector as one of the main pillars of National Vision 2030, in addition to its interest in heritage and culture through the establishment of libraries, museums, art centers, publishing houses and sponsoring festivals and various cultural events.

He pointed out that Doha has become one of the capitals of Arab culture that attracts various forms of cultural and heritage creativity, emphasizing the efforts of Qatar Museums in supporting the values of adherence to identity and the spreading of fine arts through its many museums and activities.

He talked about the ongoing preparations in the country to host the FIFA World Cup in 2022. He valued the role of Japanese companies in the implementation of many infrastructure projects, including the modern sports facilities and advanced facilities.

He also talked about the importance of bilateral relations between Qatar and Japan, which are characterized by fruitful cooperation, strong friendship and mutual respect. He referred to the distinguished level of bilateral cooperation in the economic and investment sides, especially in the field of liquefied natural gas and oil, and Qatar's commitment to continue stable energy supplies and meet all of Japan's energy needs.

He pointed out that the two countries are preparing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of relations in 2022 through hosting cultural and sports events in the two countries.
