El Salvador's Minister of Labor Praises Qatar's Labor Law Reforms

Minister of Labor and Social Security in the Republic of El Salvador praised Thursday that the State of Qatar's reforms of the labor law, saying that its current legislation guarantees the welfare of workers, including those from El Salvador who wish to work in the State of Qatar.

This came in a press conference organized by the ministry in coordination with the embassy of the State of Qatar in El Salvador to discuss the State of Qatar's labor market reforms.

For his part, Qatar's Charges d'Affaires Tareq Othman Al Othman discussed the reforms which included canceling exit permits for residents, and allowing employees to move freely between employers without required a no-objection certificate (NOC), in addition to setting a minimum wage without discrimination among other measures.

He stressed the State of Qatar's commitment to improving workers conditions and create a dynamic job market that enhances economic growth, increases competitiveness in the market, and attracts investors.
