Arbil /Information Office/ 20 July 2015/ President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq Masoud Barzani met here Monday with HE Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah who is paying an official visit to Arbil. Talks during the meeting focused on bilateral relations between Qatar and Kurdistan Region and ways of further enhancing such relations, in addition to issues of common interest. HE Foreign Minister affirmed Qatar's keenness to boost areas of cooperation and develop bilateral relations, notably in economic and investment fields, wishing stability, growth and prosperity for the Kurdistan region . They inspected the situation in Iraqi displaced persons and Syrian refugees in Arbil, where the State of Qatar, in coordination with official bodies in Arbil, provided material support to alleviate suffering of the displaced persons and refugees in Arbil. For his part, Barzani expressed his thanks and appreciation to the government and people of Qatar for their ongoing support to Kurdistan Region, wishing further development and prosperity for their bilateral relations.
