Doha/ Information Office/ 29 October 22015/ HE Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah, held here on Thursday official talks with the UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Philip Hammond. Talks during the session dealt with bilateral relations between the two countries and means of enhancing them in various fields, as well as a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern, particularly the situation in Syria. HE Minister of Foreign Affairs explained that the visit of the UK Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to Qatar comes within the framework of continuous exchanges and consultations between the State of Qatar and the United Kingdom over the situation in the region. It also emphasizes the depth of relations between the two friendly countries, Dr. Al Attiyah added. He emphasized during the meeting the State of Qatar's firm commitment to support the Syrian people, stressing its keenness to achieve a political solution to end the crisis in Syria.
