Qatar Participates in Arab Conference on Family Protection in Sharm El-Sheikh

Cairo/Information Office/ 29 February 2016/ A high-level conference on the needs and protection of the Arab family in light of contemporary changes, and the meetings of the 7th session of the Arab Family Committee kicked off in the Egyptian resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh. HE Qatar's Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Delegate to the Arab League Saif bin Muqaddam Al Buainain led Qatar's delegation to the conference and committee meetings. A number of Arab social affairs ministers are taking part in the two-day conference which aims at promoting policies and joint efforts to formulate adequate measures to protect the Arab family in the light of the changes and contemporary problems, including the protection from poverty. The conference will present worksheets and studies to highlight the needs and current challenges of the Arab families, in addition to the current wars, political conflicts and security issues in the Arab region which led to instability and increasing numbers of orphans, refugees and victims.
