Rhodes/Information Office/08 October 2016/ The Greek island of Rhodes hosted the Dialogue of Civilizations Rhodes Forum 2016. High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations Nassir Abdulaziz Al Nasser discussed in his speech during the forum the challenges facing the world, whether they were climate change or illegal immigration and refugees. He also discussed the impact of new media as well as ways of empowering youth. Al Nasser discussed extremism and terrorism and said that one of its main causes was marginalizing youth, who are disillusioned with their lack of representation in decision-making circles. He then discussed the role of the alliance in tackling the issue of empowering youth. A number of ranking Greek officials participated in the meeting. President of Czech Republic Milos Zeman also attended.
