Qatar UN Representative Meets President-elect of 72nd Session of UN General Assembly

HE Qatar's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Sheikha Alia Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani met Wednesday with HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajcak, the President-elect of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, Her Excellency briefed the elected President of the General Assembly on the Gulf crisis and on the illegal and unfair siege on the State of Qatar and reiterated the Doha's readiness to resolve the crisis by peaceful means.

She also reviewed the contributions of the State of Qatar to the United Nations agenda, highlighting Qatar's pioneering role in the areas of mediation, peaceful conflict resolution, combating terrorism and combating violent extremism.

HE the ambassador also congratulated the Slovakian foreign minister on his election as President of the General Assembly, reiterating that the State of Qatar is looking forward to cooperate with him in order to ensure the success of the seventy-second session of the General Assembly.
