Qatar Participates in 13th Session of Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity

The 13th session of the Arab ministerial council for electricity began on Tuesday at the Arab League General Secretariat.

The State of Qatar is participating in the meeting, with a delegation headed by HE Permanent Representative of Qatar to the Arab League Ambassador Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al Sahlawi.

The meeting discusses a number of topics at the top of which is the developments in establishing the Arab Common Market for Electricity, which is considered to be one of the pillars of Arab economic integration due to the effective role of electric energy in driving the economic and social development for the Arab peoples.

The meeting also discusses other topics, including the support of the electricity sector in the Federal Republic of Somalia, reconstruction and economic recovery in the Republic of Yemen, the Executive Plan of the Arab Strategy for Sustainable Energy adopted by the Fourth Arab Economic and Social Development Summit in Beirut, in addition to cooperation with countries, regional and international organizations in the field of energy.
