The State of Qatar and Malaysia held a preparatory meeting on the establishment of a Joint High-Level Committee, chaired by the Foreign Ministers of the two countries.

The State of Qatar's delegation to the meeting was led by HE Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, and the Malaysian side was headed by HE Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dato' Sri Muhammad Shahrul Ikram Yaakob.
