Ambassador of Qatar to Mexico Praises QFFD's Efforts to Support Vulnerable Communities

HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Mexico Mohammed bin Jassim Al Kuwari praised the Qatar Fund for Development's (QFFD) projects and its great efforts in supporting vulnerable communities and improving their living.

This came during a media dialogue session held by the Embassy of Qatar in the United Mexican States to introduce the projects of the QFFD, and its efforts in support of the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan.

The session was attended by HE Minister of Economic Development in the government of Mexico City Fadlallah Aqbani Hunaidiin.

At the beginning of the session, an introductory video was displayed about the QFFD as a leading Qatari governmental institution in sustainable development projects, and in supporting vulnerable people by promoting educational, health, infrastructure and humanitarian projects.

During the session, HE the Qatari Ambassador also presented the history of the QFFD and its activities, and some of the projects that the Fund established to support the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan.

He referred to the fund's donation of $ 50 million to Lives and Livelihoods Fund, and a total amount of $ 577 million distributed over 87 countries around the world. He also referred to the Fund's role and efforts to achieve peace and prosperity to support sustainable development projects, without neglecting that the fund has saved thousands of lives from cholera and diseases caused by wars.

For his part, HE Minister of Economic Development Fadlallah Aqbani talked about the Mexican government's view of the 2030 plan at the level of the federal government of Mexico and the government of the capital, Mexico City, praising QFFD's efforts in promoting a decent life for needy communities and its support for sustainable development plans, expressing aspiration for fruitful cooperation with the Fund.

QFFD is considered a pioneering institution at the international level in the areas of supporting societies around the world, the Minister said, indicating that the embassy's initiative is an important step to shed light on this important aspect of the efforts of the State of Qatar, and affirmed that the State of Qatar for Mexico, and in particular for Mexican businessmen, is an important economic hub.
