Qatar's Consulate in Houston Presents USD50,000 to Support

Houston/ Information Office/ 06 September 2015/ HE the Consul General of the State of Qatar in Houston Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Humaid presented a financial aid worth 50 thousands US dollars to the Chairman of the Board of the Bilateral US-Arab Chamber of Commerce David Phillips to support "Teachers Educating Across Cultures in Harmony (TEACH)" program. The program invites a group of qualified teachers at educational institutions in the United States to visit a number of educational institutions in Qatar. The teachers will work to build a better world based on diversity, interdependence, communication and tolerance among all, and will be interested in building bridges of cooperation between their schools and their counterparts' schools in the State of Qatar. Fifteen teachers representing the best and most efficient staff working in the field of education in the United States will visit Doha from November 24 to 27. The group will visit a number of educational institutions in Doha including the American School of Doha, Al Khor International School, and DeBakey High School . They will also hold meetings with officials at the Education City and senior officials in the state, and will visit Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center and the Museum of Islamic Art. The visiting group will review several topics including study opportunities abroad, the academic competition on certified networking sites and projects between classrooms in the United States and Qatar. TEACH has made a significant impact in providing a better understanding among young people in the American society about Islam and the Arab heritage in the State of Qatar, and the Middle East in general. The program represents an effective and civilized way to exchange ideas and opinions and learn about the cultures and civilizations of the Arab world.
