The State of Qatar has called on the international community to take all necessary measures to stop the violations and crimes committed by the occupation against the Palestinians, and to hold accountable all those responsible for them and to bring them to international criminal justice and to provide urgent international protection for the Palestinian people as well as put pressure on the Israeli entity to implement the resolutions of international legitimacy, end its occupation of all Palestinian and Arab territories, and stop the implementation of settlement policies and plans.
This came in the speech of the State of Qatar delivered by HE Ambassador Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva today, under item 7 of the agenda of the UN Human Rights Council in the interactive dialogue with the International Independent Investigation Commission In the occupied Palestinian territory.
HE Ambassador Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri expressed the State of Qatar's strong condemnation of the insistence of Israel, the occupying power, to continue targeting and killing Palestinian civilians who demand the restoration of all their legitimate rights, in particular the right of return of refugees and the lifting of the unjust siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, through peaceful civilian demonstrations, which would not represent any threat or military or combat action, "and this is confirmed by the report of the Committee."
The State of Qatar welcomed the conclusions and recommendations contained in the report of the International Commission of Inquiry and strongly deplored the failure of the occupying Powers to cooperate with the Committee to enable it to carry out the tasks entrusted to it, HE Ambassador Al Mansouri added .
HE the Ambassador noted that the report referred to the targeting of Israeli occupation forces, especially Israeli snipers, and the deliberate killing of Palestinian demonstrators, and the excessive fire on journalists, paramedics, children and persons with disabilities, who were identified by their identities, as a blatant violation of international laws and conventions and no one in the world can condone or defend the international crimes described in the report.
Israeli military and political leaders were encourage to continue committing more violations and crimes by the impunity of those responsible and the support they receive from some States, HE the Ambassador said, calling on the international community to take all necessary measures to stop the violations and crimes committed by the occupation forces against the Palestinians, hold all those responsible accountable and bring them to international criminal justice, end the policy of collective punishment and siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, open all crossings and move forward in the process of reconstruction and improvement of living conditions in the Strip.
In another speech delivered by HE Ambassador Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva during the general debate on the situation of human rights in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories, HE stressed the importance of the existence and survival of the seventh item on the agenda of the Human Rights Council Human rights and the crimes that Israel continues to commit against the Palestinian people, in flagrant defiance of the Human Rights Council, and a clear disregard for international institutions.
He added that the occupation government must be aware that the continued acts of violence and terrorism against Palestinian civilians and their sanctities, the continuing attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque and its worshipers, attempts to Judaize the city of Jerusalem and change its demographic and political character are a provocation to the feelings of millions of Muslims and Christians. "It must also be understood that the Palestinian issue will remain the first issue of Arabs and Muslims and all honorable people in the world.", HE Ambassador Al Mansouri underlined.
He called on the international community to assume its responsibilities to provide urgent international protection to the Palestinian people and to pressure Israel to "implement the resolutions of international legitimacy, end its occupation of all Palestinian and Arab territories and stop implementing settlement policies and plans that lead to the failure of the peace process, and spreading chaos and extremism in the Middle East.
Concluding, HE Ambassador Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri reiterated the firm and steadfast position of the State of Qatar in supporting the Palestinian people in order to achieve all legitimate rights as well as full support for Palestinian national reconciliation and for international efforts to reach a just, lasting and comprehensive solution that would lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian State on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.
